We are pleased to announce that Barry Maney Ford has joined us as a Major Sponsor of the AWSR Australian Wingless Sprint Championship!
In July 2025, Borderline Speedway announced that the 2027 Australian Wingless Sprint Championship was coming back to Mount Gambier after running the second ever AWSR title back in 2010.
With state and local competitors in the class growing to record numbers and nationally nearly 400 registered cars, Borderline Speedway is excited to once again run this prestigious event.
The defending and two time National Champion Tyson Martin (who was born in Mount Gambier) has the opportunity to create history and be the first person to win three national titles and also three in a row.
With work well underway into the organising of the title and a massive reconstruction of the track and safety fence, track lighting, control tower and PA system, these improvements will make this racing season one of the best ever in what will be Borderline Speedways’ 70th season.

Borderline Speedway president Cary Jennings (pictured) is proud to announce that local company Barry Maney Ford as the naming rights sponsor for the prestigious event, set to take place on March long weekend 5th - 7th.
“Barry Maney Ford is a proud company in its’ 50th year in business and has been a long time supporter of major events in Mount Gambier and the surrounding area, and we are grateful for their inclusion of our event”.
AWSR president Peter Granger also thanked Barry Maney Ford for their outstanding support as naming rights sponsor of the 2027 AWSR Australian Wingless Spring Championship. Support from businesses like BMF is vital to the continued growth of our sport. Their commitment helps us deliver a first class national championship while providing competitors and fans with an event worthy of the Australian Title.
Barry Maney Ford general manager Shannon Wilson (pictured) praised the local club on running another national title at the venue.
“After getting on board last year as a sponsor for the Australian Sprintcar Championship, we thought it would be great to again be involved in another high class event that is coming to our area with both the community and the volunteer run club benefiting”.

“It is exciting that Borderline Speedway(70 years) and Barry Maney Ford (50 years) both have such longevity in the community”.
“At BMF we have a lot of customers and staff involved in the speedway, as competitors, officials or just race fans in general, so it makes sense to be involved”.
The 2027 Barry Maney Ford Australian Wingless Sprint Championship promises to be a huge event for Borderline Speedway and Mount Gambier, with early indications that over 100 competitors will be entering.
It will be a tough title to win!! But very exciting for the area!!
