Borderline Speedway 2017/2018 Calendar Release

The Borderline Speedway club is happy to announce the racing calendar for the 2017/18 Speedway Season. The 61st year will see 11 nights of racing across 12 different classes.

Saturday November 25 sees the traditional season opener. Eureka garages and sheds sprintcar series will invade the borderline bullring along with the Formula 500s for the 2017 South Australian Title. Supports for the night are awaiting confirmation.

After Christmas on Thursday December 28th the World Series Sprintcars will do battle. This will be round 3 of the national series and its night 3 of Speedweek. Formula 500s are back with a round of the Speedweek series.

A week later on Saturday January 6th the borderline clayway is back in action for a Tri Feature Night. 3 Classes / 3 Series / 3 Features. Speedcars are back once again with Rd 3 of the Speedcar Super Series. Wingless Sprints will do battle in night 2 of the Summer Slam Series. Street stocks are also back for a round of a series.

Thursday January 18th is the 2018 Kings Sprintcar Challenge. $10,000 to win event, last season’s Kings Challenge was claimed by Mother Nature in the A main. Supports for the night are the kids with no fear… the Junior Sedans.

After 24 years the Borderline Speedway will be hosting the 56th SCCA Australian Sprintcar Championship. Last time the club hosted the Australian championship was back in 1995 were Garry Brazier won back to back championships from Brooke Tatnell in 2nd and Garry Rush in 3rd place. The championship will be run over 3 nights starting on Thursday January 25th, Friday January 26th and Saturday January 27th. The Calcutta will be held on the Wednesday January 24 at the Mount Gambier Show Grounds Hall.

Saturday February 24th will see the 360 Sprintcars return to the borderline bullring for the Tyson Perez Memorial which incorporates Rd 10 of the Allstar 360 Sprintcar Series. Modlites are back after a well-received reception last season. The Mighty Super Rods from Victoria will do battle for the first time this season.

Saturday March 17th sees the Wingless Sprints back in action in the final round of the Wingless Sprint Super Series Rd 6. Street stocks will battle it out in the MJS Street stock series. Supporting the night are the Classics.

Easter Saturday March 31st is the Annual Easter Sprintcar Trail Night 2. Super Rods will once again do battle around the 372 metre bullring. VSC Standard Saloons will support the night with some great side by side racing.

The last meeting for season 2017/18 will be held on Friday April 13th. After a very lengthy absence the Super Sedans are back for the running of the South Australian Super Sedan Title. Marsh Modifieds from victoria will join us for the first time. Supports for the night are awaiting confirmation.

Regarding the Australian Sprintcar Championship, Yes online tickets will be available. We are working on a new ticket system and we will let everyone know when the system is operational.
