SA SPEEDCAR CHAMPIONSHIP HEADLINES A BORDERLINE FRIDAY NIGHT SPECIAL

It’s a New Year and Borderline Speedway is all set for a fantastic night racing this Friday with a trio of sections on show which all provide great racing on the Borderline clay.

The headline act this Friday is the 69th running of the South Australian Speedcar Championship with 26 nominations received with a quality cast on hand making picking a winner a very hard task.

Sydney superstars Nathan Smee, Troy Jenkins, Gary Rooke, Braydan Wilmington, Glen Arnold, Dave Lambert, Matt Jackson & DJ Raw take on the Victorians Travis Mills, Andy Pearce, Harley Bishop (in an SA Car), Justin McMinn, Grant Patton, Adam Wallis, Mike Griffiths, Sprintcar regular Domain Ramsay, Joe Lostitch, Chris Nankiville, Mitch Whiting while the SA contingent contains a couple of drivers who could surprise namely Brett Ireland and WA regular Lee Redmond who is piloting the Jamie Crouch #7 machine, Robert Heard, Rory Jackermis was very racy at Murray Bridge last month, Todd Wigzell who deserves a change of luck and the veteran Norm Moore will also be in action.

The title will be held for the first time at the Mount since 2005/06 when Troy Jordan was victorious.

Also, on the program is the Victorian Wingless Sprints Summer Slam Round 1 which takes in rounds at The Mount, Hamilton on Saturday with the final at Warrnambool on Sunday.

In excess of 45 cars have nominated with plenty of cars going in thinking they have a chance of winning.  The class boasts several stars namely Daniel Storer, Matthew Symons, Luke Weel, David Cook, Todd Hobson while the local south east drivers will be keen to put on a good show for their local sponsors and fans and they are Mitchell Broome, Micheal Ross and rookie Kirby Hillyer who has been very impressive.

The Mount Gambier region is very strong when it comes to Street Stock racing and that is evident this week with 26 cars set to run in this seasons Blue Lake Classic. Current Australian champ Anthony Beare heads the charge along with fellow South East drivers Mark Jennings, Steve Gartner, Jason Duell & Jayden Edwards. Drivers from Adelaide will make the trek down South with Paul Hayes, Carey Weston, Hayden Jolly and Jeremy Weston just to name a few.

This corresponding event last season was a great night racing so get your backside trackside this Friday Night to Borderline Speedway.
